Bentota beach
This long beach covered in clean sand is located in the southwest part of Sri Lanka. You can get here from Colombo, a town with an international airport, by train, bus or taxi, which is the best option: it's easy to find one at the airport and it's the fastest way to get here (about two hours). Swimming here is safe which is why many families with children come here.

One of the best activities to partake in here are sea safaris along the Bentota River, where lush greenery combines with picturesque water surface and brings great emotions. This beach has everything for everyone, be it calm relaxation on the sunbed, sunbathing or active games for young visitors. The resort overall sees many visitors because the beach is considered to be one of the best in the country and each year welcomes more and more tourists.
The infrastructure here is quite well-developed. Luxurious hotels for tourists are located nearby, as are all other conveniences. And you can partake in many various activities here: surfing, paragliding, water skiing which can be easily replaced by activities in water sports centers, and there are quite many of them here. Tourists can also do such sports as:

When is the best time to go?
The best time to travel to Sri Lanka is the period from November to April, when the weather is dry. In summer, the rainy season takes place in Sri Lanka, however, the prices this season are much lower. So if you are not afraid of rainfalls (which commonly take place at night, and by morning the ground dries up), a trip in the summer can be a great option for a budget holiday.
