Induruwa beach
The beach is located about 100 km away from the Colombo International Airport. You need to go southwest to reach it. The best way to get here is by car as it's convenient and take just about 1,5 hours. The infrastructure isn't very well-developed as the resort is quite young, but there are some comfortable hotels near the beach already. Both snack bars with simple food and cafes and restaurants with exotic meals and local delicacies operate here.

Induruwa, however, is quite a calm and quiet place for vacation. Many guests slowly walk along the coast and enjoy the tropical flora and sea air. The beach's location is quite convenient, as those who like partying and loud crowds can go to the neighboring districts, while those who prefer solitude will easily reach this place.
If you come with children, don't forget to visit the turtle breeding centers. Those who like exotic stuff can go on river safari tours. Fishing is also available, and whatever you catch can be prepared right on the boat or in the hotel. Another exciting activity is a fascinating tour to the cave where, according to legends, Buddha himself once was.
The beach area is quite diverse, and some parts of it are under construction. But overall, the beach is sandy, has all the conveniences like umbrellas and sunbeds, as well as a comfortable smooth descent into water. If you go swimming, however, please be careful, as there are no reefs protecting the coast, and the waves can be quite dangerous. This beach is particularly loved by photographers and newlywed couples who come in large numbers to Sri Lanka seeking breathtaking romantic frames, all thanks to the lush greenery, magnificent landscapes and sunsets.
When is the best time to go?
The best time to travel to Sri Lanka is the period from November to April, when the weather is dry. In summer, the rainy season takes place in Sri Lanka, however, the prices this season are much lower. So if you are not afraid of rainfalls (which commonly take place at night, and by morning the ground dries up), a trip in the summer can be a great option for a budget holiday.
