Kings Beach

The beach is a long (1.5 km) stretch of sandy coast that stretches from the city port to the BayWorld Museum. The entry into the water here is very smooth and comfortable, the shallow water is very wide. There are almost always strong waves on the beach; it is not very suitable for swimming. For its cleanliness and ecology, Kings Beach received the Blue Flag Award.

Kings Beach is the most comfortable beach in Port Elizabeth. There are changing cabins, showers, toilets. You can rent parasols and sunbeds (limited amount). In the area of the southern end of the beach there is a paid recreation area, where are located:

• Cultural Center;
• restaurants;
• two swimming pools.

Near the beach there is also a large selection of apartments and guest houses.

When is it better to go

The best time for a beach holiday and swimming on the coast of South Africa falls in the low season – from November to March.  The water temperature in the Indian Ocean rises to + 23-25 °C, in the Atlantic – to + 18-20 °C. The air temperature reaches + 30 °C, but the fresh ocean breeze makes you feel comfortable.
