Beach description
Pollok beach is a large stretch of sandy coast surrounded by reefs on both sides. On the ocean floor there is also a reef covered with sand - a kind of "pipe" (The Pipe - another name for this beach). There are always a lot of surfers on the beach and those who just relax near the water. Swimming on the beach is difficult, because there are always big waves.
There is a building on Pollok beach where it is possible to store personal equipment for sports. There are also toilets and a place to relax. There is free parking at the beach exit. Near the beach you can easily find hotels, hotels and guest houses.
When is the best time to go
The best time for a beach holiday and swimming on the coast of South Africa falls in the low season – from November to March. The water temperature in the Indian Ocean rises to + 23-25 °C, in the Atlantic – to + 18-20 °C. The air temperature reaches + 30 °C, but the fresh ocean breeze makes you feel comfortable.
