Songho beach
The beach is located in the south of Korea. It's quite wide (about 200 m) and long (up to 2 km), the best way to come here is by bus from the town of Haenam. The smooth descent and shallow water make this beach a perfect destination for families with children. Due to the lack of waves this place is often called a lake.

You can find both a solitary spot for sunbathing on the beach and set up camp among the pine forest that surrounds the beach and is one of the natural monuments of Korea. The main, and perhaps the only, art object of the beach is the unique steel sculpture.
There's also a playground for children here, so Songho Beach is suitable for families, couples and large groups of friends. Local fishermen showcase their skills and teach the tourists how to properly fish on the nearby islands and rocks, and the freshly caught seafood can be prepared right on the beach. Umbrellas that protect from the heat of the sun are installed along the whole coastline. You can diversify your vacation by taking an excursion to a unique neighboring village that is known as the "village on the edge of Earth". The tourist infrastructure consists of an observation deck, a mountain range and a monorail for mini trips.
When is the best time to go?
The best time to travel to Korea comes in spring or fall. In the summer it is too hot in Korea, besides the air humidity reaches 80%, which cannot but intensify the negative effect of high temperature. But in spring and autumn the weather is warm, but still cool enough for a comfortable stay.
