Songjeong beach
Songjeong beach (송정 해수욕장) is one of the best beaches on the east coast of the Sea of Japan. It is ideal for families with children. The beach is located in the eastern part of Busan – the second largest city in South Korea. In high season, the beach accommodates up to 140,000 visitors daily. Come here not only to swim and sunbathe, but also to engage in water sports, watch the sunrise and moon over the ocean.

Beach description
Songjeong is a large, arcuate, coastal section of the bay, surrounded by evergreen groves and covered with fine white sand mixed with crushed shells. The length of the beach strip is 1.2 km. The sea in the area of the beach is shallow and clean, the bottom of the sea is sandy. Unlike other city beaches, Songjeong beach is a fairly calm and not crowded place. All this makes it convenient for families with children.

Among other active entertainment, visitors to the beach can enjoy water skiing, inflatable rings, boats, year-round surfing lessons. In the evening, parties are held on the beach where live music is played.
Entrance to the beach is free, it works from June to August. You can get to Songjeong beach by public transport or car. In the evening, due to the large number of visitors, there may be problems finding a free parking space in the area of the beach.
When is the best time to go?
The best time to travel to Korea comes in spring or fall. In the summer it is too hot in Korea, besides the air humidity reaches 80%, which cannot but intensify the negative effect of high temperature. But in spring and autumn the weather is warm, but still cool enough for a comfortable stay.

Songjong Beach – a comfortable, fully equipped place for a beach holiday. A special pavilion is built here – Songiljeong Pavilion, being in which you can admire the picturesque views of the surroundings, watch the sunrise. At the end of the beach there is a boat dock where you can rent a motor boat or a boat for hire to go for a drive or go fishing in the sea. At the other end of the beach is a park, in the shade of which you can hide from the summer heat.
Near the coast of Songjon there are several restaurants serving fresh seafood, as well as a dozen comfortable and affordable hotels, of different levels of service. Among them, Songjeong Marina Resort offers excellent accommodation. Hotel located just 40 m from the beach. In addition to comfortable rooms, its guests are invited to use the outdoor pool and rental of sports equipment, take part in organized excursions and hiking.
You can pitch a tent on the beach area. Staying for the night, you should not count on a quiet and calm atmosphere. In addition to music, fireworks are often fired here.

Resting in Songjeong as a family or alone, it is worth visiting some local attractions.
- Yongdusan Park, where you can see the 1,204-meter tower, equipped with an observation deck, traditional Korean pagodas, monuments and sculptures, local nature. Entrance to the park is free.
- Beomeo-sa Temple to listen to the singing of Buddhist monks, admire the mountain scenery and luxurious oriental architecture, plunge into peace and quiet, break away from the bustle of the city.
If you travel by bus or car to Busan, you can visit the Gamcheon Culture Village, the fish market – Jagalchi, popular local beaches.
