Schinias beach
Schinias Beach is a sandy beach located 45 km east of Athens. It pleases tourists with a new infrastructure, friendly staff and soft sand, which you want to walk on again and again. Warm winds reign in Schinias, which accelerate the waves and save tourists from the summer heat. They create ideal conditions for surfing and add a touch of flavour to a normal swimming experience. Another advantage of the beach is its smooth increase in depth – it starts at 5-10 meters from the shore. Finally, this place is known for its warm, clear and bright blue water.
The beach is surrounded by rocky cliffs of light brown color, mountain peaks covered with lush greenery and giant trees, 4-7 meters high. The surface of Schinias stores many beautiful shells and unique stones. The entire territory of the beach is cleaned every day, so that there are no sea urchins, sharp stones and other dangerous objects.
Schinias offers the following attractions for tourists:
- tasting fine Greek cuisine;
- sunbathing on a comfortable sun lounger;
- swimming along the sea and exploring its underwater areas;
- boat trips and cruises on a powerboat;
- conquering mountain peaks on trampled paths;
- walks along parks and pine groves.
Please note: sometimes you can stumble upon rocks under the water. If you are concerned about the safety of your feet, walk carefully along the bottom or wear protective slippers.
You can get to Schinias by metropolitan public bus, taxi or private car. The road from Athens will take you 50 to 90 minutes.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

Near the beach there is a pine forest with a paved road. It is home to exotic birds, huge turtles, bright butterflies and nimble rodents. Local trees deserve special attention - they saturate the air with the aroma of needles and "pull out" all the harmful substances from the lungs. Best time to visit the park: dawn or afternoon.
Not far from the beach, the legendary battle of the Marathon took place. During it, the Athenian soldiers won the first serious victory over the Persians.
