Voula beach

The central part of the beach is covered with soft and pleasant to the touch golden sand. There are pebbles on the periphery of the shore. There are no sea urchins or sharp objects: the whole territory of Voula is cleaned up every day. This place is famous for its bright blue water and lush trees growing right by the sea. In good weather, you can clearly see the neighboring island, tourist liners and fishing boats from the beach.

You can find pebbles and stone slabs on the bottom of the sea. But thanks to 100% water transparency, the risk of injury is almost zero. As for the depth, it starts in 10-20 meters from the sea shore. Also, there's practically no wind and strong waves.

Voula is one of the most popular beaches in Attica. From Friday to Sunday, thousands of people come here to relax. That's why there's a shortage of sun loungers and pushing on the first line of the shore. You need to get up at 8-9 a.m. to get a good spot here on a weekend. On weekdays, the beach becomes crowded in the afternoon.

The following transport runs to Voula:

1. tram No.3 (runs from Piraeus);
2. tram No.5 (runs from Athens);
3. buses No.115, No.120, No.117, No.121.

The beach can also be reached by private car or taxi. There's a big parking lot next to it.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
