Beach description
Most of the coast is covered with sand, but pebbles begin when entering the water. The beach is characterized by windy weather, a sharp set of depth and relatively large waves. Its length exceeds 1 km.
The main audience of the beach is athletes, youth, fishermen and active tourists. Among the guests of Votsalakia, EU citizens and residents of Greater Athens predominate. The distance between Votsalakia and Athens itself is 12 km. You can get here using the metro bus, metro, taxi or private car.
2 km from the beach is the Peace and Friendship Stadium - a sports arena where the largest volleyball and basketball matches in the country are held. To the north of Votsalakia is an open amphitheater. There are plays, concerts and theatrical performances.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
