Kelambu beach

Kelambu, located in the northern part of Sabah, is just a gift of fate for lovers of a relaxing holiday. This is a 200-meter sand spit 20 to 30 meters wide, connecting the island with the mainland.

Beach description

The unique beach-spit, known mainly to the locals guarantees peace and solitude. When you get here on your own, you can enjoy swimming in the clear aquamarine sea, enjoy boat and water skiing, snorkeling and diving.

The sandy bottom free of sharp stones smoothly goes into the depths. However, the safe zone is limited to a few meters from the coast. When exceeding that limit, you should beware of strong currents. At night, especially on the new moon, the Kelambu Sea starts to glow mysteriously. The effect of bioluminescence is associated with phytoplankton emitting light at the slightest vibration of water.

Kelambu is an ideal place for family outings, romantic walks and photo shoots amid stunning sunsets. Three pavilions, several barbecue areas and a public toilet provide comfort for guests. Trekking to the uninhabited Kelambu island, covered with cliffs and dense forest takes only 5 minutes at low tide.

When is it better to go

There are no sudden changes in temperature on the beaches of Malaysia's and possible to relax on the islands all year round. There is no particular season of rains and winds, precipitation is distributed depending on the month of the year and the region of the country.
