Mamutik Island beach

Mamutik is a small island where tourists feel more open and relaxed. The sea around it is stormy, the deep parts of the sea starts in just 10 meters away from the coast. Strong waves wash away sharp fragments of coral ashore.

Beach description

A snow-white sandy beach with a length of about 200 meters provides each visitor with enough personal space. Main visitors to the island are lovers of solitude and tranquility.

In addition to sunbathing, swimming and trekking, Mamutik is popular for snorkeling. The density and diversity of the local corals, however, is small. The best snorkeling spots are located on the western rocky edge of the beach. There are deck chairs of a local resort in the shade of tall trees in the Eastern part. You can not make noise and collect shells or eggs of turtles on the territory.

The Mamutik island is just 3 km from Kota Kinabalu and can be reached by boat in 10 minutes. You will find snack bars, shops, a dive center, a lifeguard service, sports equipment rentals, beach rugs and tents on the island. Locker rooms, picnic canopies, tables and benches, a toilet with shower are intended for public use.

When is it better to go

There are no sudden changes in temperature on the beaches of Malaysia's and possible to relax on the islands all year round. There is no particular season of rains and winds, precipitation is distributed depending on the month of the year and the region of the country.
