Teluk Cempedak beach

Teluk Chempedak (also known as Palm Beach) is a popular public recreation area, a center for local and international tourism. The beach is located 5 kilometers east of Kuantan.

Beach description

Teluk-Chempedak is a stretch of white sand 1.1 kilometers long, surrounded by casuarinas and pine trees, stretching along the coast of the South China Sea. Several rocky headlands emerge from the jade waters; the coast is strewn with granite boulders. Reconstruction work carried out repeatedly on the beach, what impedes the processes of coastal erosion.

This is a great place for a relaxing family vacation. There is a playground for children in the form of a bouncy castle. Inflatable pillows serve vacationers as comfortable sunbeds, lifebuoys on the water and kites, providing exciting kiting.

Adherents of active leisure go water-skiing or arrange surfing competitions on the high seas. A newly built platform leading to another bay serves as a viewing platform for tourists. The diverse needs of vacationers are met by many restaurants (including McDonald and KFC), shops (including the 24-hour 7-Eleven) and hotels. Among the amenities in the recreation area there is a toilet and paid parking.

The beach is almost empty during the day, but on weekends and evenings it becomes lively here. Many Malay people come here after work to relax, watching stunning sunsets and funny monkeys.
