Nea Stira beach
Nea Stira is a popular beach for couples located in the center of the eponymous resort and port city on the northern outskirts of Euboea. In summer, it is especially crowded, but the absence of beach parties creates an atmosphere of calm and attracts families with children to this area.

The long shoreline of Nea Stira is covered in sand and pebbles, with a prevalence of pure fine light sand with insignificant inclusions of fine pebbles, both on the shore and on the bottom of the sea. Clean waters, gentle entry into the sea, lack of high waves and a long stretched area of shallow water combined with excellent infrastructure have made Nea Stira one of the best places in Evia to have a holiday with young children. Wind is also rare here, as the entire coast is built up and protected from strong winds.
On Nea Stira you can set up with comfort – there are rented sun loungers and umbrellas available for holidaymakers. The marina offers cruises on boats and powerboats. Evening boat tours to see the picturesque sunset are especially popular. There are several cafes and beach restaurants on the beach. More catering establishments, as well as various shops, nightclubs and youth parties can be found in the town itself. In the vicinity of Nea Stir, you should take a look at the “dragon houses” – unusual ancient buildings.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
