Beach description
Agia Paraskevi is a long beach with rows of shady trees along it. The sand is yellow and closes with azure water in the bay. The entrance to the water is gentle, and perfect both for adults and children. The village of the same name is named after the nearby church of St. Paraskevi. Here you can try out many water sports, including water skiing and jet skiing.
The main advantage of the beach is its developed infrastructure. Not only does there are necessary amenities on its territory - sunbeds, changing cabins, urns, - you will find everything you need in the surroundings: budget hostels and luxury hotels, mini-markets and five-star restaurants, beach stalls with all sort of things and fashionable boutique. In summertime, some taverns open on the beach, ready to give pleasure tourists with fresh dishes.
You can reach Agia Paraskevi by car or bus from Skiathos. At the end of July, on St. Paraskevi's Day, the locals organize a bustling holiday with dances, plenty of drinking and treats. If you want to feel Greek flavor and have fun, it is better to go to the beach at this time of the year.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
