Kolios beach

Kolios on Skiathos is a small but frequently visited beach located in a bay in the south of the island. The sandy coast, elongated in the shape of a crescent moon, will delight vacationers with the bright sun, fine sand without pebbles, developed infrastructure and many opportunities to spend time bright and rich.

Beach description

On Kolios, a narrow beachline is covered with yellow sand, which falls under the crystal clear water. The bottom is sandy, without sharp stones, so children will feel here comfortable enough. Trees grow along the beach, creating natural shade, in which you can hide in a hot noon.

Nearby is the beach of Agia Paraskevi, famous for its developed infrastructure. The same can be said about Kolios: there are sun loungers with umbrellas, urns, changing cabins and everything you need for a comfortable vacation. Near the beach, there are taverns and restaurants, and you can easily find accommodation in the adjacent village. You can get to Kolios by bus or taxi from Skiathos.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
