Chrisi Milia beach

Chrisi Milia is the most beautiful beach on the Northern Sporades archipelago. It is located in a rocky bay, covered with coniferous trees, giant stones and golden sand. There is good infrastructure, crystal clear water, a large number of fish and birds.

Beach description

The beach is surrounded by majestic mountains, covered with tall trees. It is possible to hide from the sun in their shade, set camp, enjoy the fresh air with a distinctive aroma of needles. The already beautiful picture is complemented by gray-brown cliffs and tourist liners, which are clearly visible from the sea.

The surface of Chrysi Milia is covered with shingle. On the ground there are many bizarre and beautiful rocks. For comfortable bathing and movement along the coast, slippers with a hard sole are needed. On the other hand, these waters are ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving. Wind and waves are almost absent. However, there are many areas of the beach with a sharp depth increase. So - it is necessary to carefully look after children.

Chrysi Milia is not only the most beautiful views, warm water and bright sun. Also, the beach is famous for taverns with traditional Greek dishes, natural cocktails, good service. On its territory there are many places for parking a car, setting a camp, organizing games.

Interesting fact: Chrysi Milia is not one, but several beaches, separated by cliffs. In its central part there are catering establishments, sunbeds, toilets and changing rooms. Wild coastal areas are characterized by thin population and almost complete lack of infrastructure.

Chrisi Milia will appeal to those people who:

  • look for a beautiful and unusual place to rest;
  • want to rest from bustle and crowds of tourists;
  • strive for combining swimming and sunbathing with wildlife exploration;
  • love beaches with a quiet, calm and decent public;
  • are not afraid of shingle and hard surface.

The beach is located 4 km from the island's capital - the village of Patitiri. It is possible to get here by bus, private transport or taxi. Also sea transport runs to the territory of Chrysi Milia.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
