Banana beach
Banana (Banana, Crassa) is a youth beach located in the southwest of Skiathos. It hosts the best parties, tropical cocktails and delicacies of Greek cuisine are tasted, guys and girls meet from all over the world. There are also ideal conditions for swimming, sunbathing, walking along the beach and tropical groves. Beach description
The beach is located in a small, but very beautiful bay. It is surrounded by giant trees, large rocks and majestic cliffs. Its surface is covered with soft and snow-white sand, in which shells and rocks are occasionally found. The sea bottom is free of sea urchins, sharp objects and slippery surfaces. Important to note: during high tides, rocks on the right coast hide under water. However, they are clearly visible through the clear water.
Banana Bay not only pleases the eye, but also protects vacationers from the wind and large waves. And an already good picture is complemented by sunny and calm weather. Calm is watched 90% of the time, occasionally small waves replace it. A pleasant bonus is the scent of the sea, tropical trees and delicacies, being thick in the air. As for the garbage - it is absent. The direction of the bar daily cleans the territory.
Banana consists of two equal beaches (small and large), separated by cliffs. In each of them there are loungers, sunbeds, umbrellas and other property. "Big Banana" is popular among youth and party-animals. Loud music reigns here, parties are held, the best DJs of Greece and other EU countries perform. "Small Banana" is the only nudist beach on Skiathos. Tourists from all regions of Europe come here to achieve unity with nature and relax rest the bustle.
Banana is located between the beaches of Bang Tao and Naithon. The road leads through the rainforest, where palm trees, casuarines and hardwoods are found, to it. There are, strangely enough, no bananas. There id interesting fact: The width of Banana Beach changes during the high tides and low tides. It varies from 70 to 10 meters. The length of the coast is 200-250 m.
This beach offers tourists the following rest options:

When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

In 30 meters from the beach is located a five-star hotel Elivi Skiathos. It offers its guests 2 outdoor pools, a SPA center, a gym, a tennis court, and a basketball court. For lovers of relaxation there is a sauna, massage center, hydromassage shower, indoor pool. The hotel has 3 types of housing:
- villas with terraces;
- private suites with patio;
- comfortable rooms with balconies.
All types of housing have a private bathroom, widescreen TV, excellent Wi-Fi. From the windows of the hotel is available a wonderful view of the Aegean Sea and the well-kept garden. There is also a restaurant with Greek and international cuisine, a bar, a hammam, a fitness center and several other attractions. Guests can order delivery food and drinks to the room.. The only minus of this place is its relatively high prices.
The beach infrastructure is concentrated around the bars. It includes toilets, changing rooms, lifeguard towers, furniture. Important to note: vacationers do not have to spend money on renting sunbeds and parasols, because they can hide from the sun in the shade of trees. Budget travelers are advised to bring food and drinks with them.

You cannot drive to the territory of Banana. You will have to leave the car 1 km from the sea coast. But you should not worry: the island has a very low crime rate.
There are no shops in the vicinity of the beach. The nearest place where you can buy food and alcohol at budget prices is in the nearest village. Therefore, stock up cash or buy everything you need in the city in advance.
In the evening, nudist parties are held by the sea. Their main contingent is people aged 30-50, but young people are also found. Conservative public are advised to relax on the Big Banana Beach.
You can get to the beach by bus, you will have to go 10-15 minutes from the stop. Due to the small size of the beach line, there are not enough sun loungers at the peak of the tourist season. If you want to enjoy soft drinks while admiring the seashore – come in advance.
A bicycle center is 500 meters from Banana. Nearby there is an old church (Saint Helen) and two cozy restaurants.
