Bai Dai beach

Located on the east coast of Vietnam between the cities of Nha Trang and Kamran. From the south, the beach borders on the international airport, so tourists resting on the beach, as an added bonus, can watch the planes taking off and going to land. Not so long ago, a military base was located in these places, so the beach was closed for free access. But now the entire coastal strip is actively built up by hotels, and soon Bai Dai will turn into one of the most fashionable and lively resorts in Vietnam. In the meantime, here you can fully enjoy a calm measured beach holiday away from crowds and noisy city bustle.

Beach description

Bai Dai is translated from Vietnamese as “Long Beach” and is one of the twenty best beaches in Asia. The giant coastline is covered with delicate golden sand and stretches for almost seventeen kilometers.

Most of it is completely wild and deprived of the usual infrastructure. Organized areas are found near hotels or near coastal cafes, where it is possible to get loungers and umbrellas in exchange for purchased food and drinks. There are also toilets and showers, as well as rental centers of surfboards, catamarans and kayaks.

In remote corners of the beach, civilization is completely absent, therefore, going to Bai Dai, it is necessary to take care of beach mats, umbrellas, broadbrims, sunscreens independently and bring along water. Shoes should be closed - walking on the hot sand in slippers is not a pleasure. And it will not be superfluous to grab bags for household waste - there are no garbage containers on most of the beach.

The sea around the beach is magical, crystal pure and clear, like a tear. The entry into the water is smooth and gradual, shallow near the coast, so often there is a desire to swim a little farther. But this is just not worth being done, since the so-called reverse currents are characteristic to these places, which can quietly drag swimmers into the open sea. Therefore, it is worth paying attention to the warning signs and swim in strictly designated areas for this. Poisonous tropical jellyfish can also be dangerous, meeting with which can be very unpleasant.

If following the necessary safety measures, then it is possible to safely rest on Bai Dai even with very small children, especially from May to September. In October, strong winds begin to blow, and surfing and other extreme water sports enthusiasts come to the beach.

Bai Dai is an ideal place for picnics, wedding ceremonies and romantic photo shoots. In coastal cafes and restaurants it is possible to buy freshly caught seafood, and much cheaper, than in the city market.

When is the best time to go?

Since Vietnam is a country stretching from north to south, the climate in its different parts is slightly different. In the north, high humidity and temperature are observed from May to October, but in the remaining months it is slightly drier and cooler. In the South, the rainy season is  longer, lasting from may to November, but even after it ends, the humidity does not subside. Therefore, it is better to go to popular resorts in the south of the country in winter or early spring.

Infrastructure

In the northern part of Bai Dai, trees and shrubs approach the beach, in the shade of them you can stay for the night, having set up a camp. There are also several karaoke cafes where locals like to spend time on weekends.

At the moment there are not many hotels on the beach, but the resort is rapidly building up, as evidenced by bright advertising signs and the availability of construction equipment. One of the most popular accommodation options is a five-star hotel The Anam, located right on the beach. It offers modern comfortable rooms equipped with everything necessary, a luxurious garden, three swimming pools, a fitness center, a tennis court and a private beach. The hotel has organized animation for adults and children, has its own spa center with a sauna, jacuzzi and massage room. There is a restaurant, a snack bar and a coffee shop on site. There are special places for picnics and barbecue in the garden. The attitude towards the guests is attentive and friendly, the staff speaks English fluently.

Useful information

Since the beach is on the way to the airport, it is not difficult to get to it. An asphalt highway leads from Nha Trang to Cam Ranh, so you can safely hit the road, even on a bike. The budget option is to travel by bus, which stops very close to the beach, you only need to warn the driver in advance.

It should be understood that in the vicinity of the beach there is practically no familiar entertainment infrastructure, therefore, to plunge into the atmosphere of a noisy bright resort, it is worth visiting Nha Trang. The city is only twenty kilometers from Bai Dai and a taxi or car ride does not take more than fifteen minutes. Nha Trang is rightfully considered the resort capital of Vietnam and attracts thousands of tourists with its ancient architecture, numerous spa centers, picturesque islands, ideal for diving and snorkeling, as well as noisy night parties that last until dawn.
