Doi Duong beach
Located in the south of Vietnam in the coastal area of Ham Tan and is a free public beach in Phan Thiet. In 2014, it entered the twenty most beautiful beaches of the country according to the popular British tourist guide Rough Guides. In recent years, Phan Thiet resort has been developing rapidly, the coast is actively being built up. And just five years ago, Doi Duong was an almost deserted three-kilometer coastline, covered with snow-white sand and surrounded by a shady casuarine grove, planted even by the French colonialists. The trees were supposed to protect the city from strong oceanic winds typical of these places.

Beach description
The beach is located just a kilometer from the busy city center and is a favorite rest spot of local residents. In the mornings, you can see athletes, jogging along the sea or training in the park, and in the evening, the Vietnamese, tired after a hard day's work, gather in coastal cafes and restaurants to have a snack, drink cold beer and discuss the news. The azure sea and snow-white sand, framed by emerald greens of casuarines, create a truly idyllic picture, from which it is impossible to look away.
Perhaps, spoiled europeans may find the level of local service insufficient, but the city authorities are doing everything possible to make foreign tourists feel relaxed and comfortable at Doi Duong. The beach is equipped with showers and toilets, it is possible to rent loungers and umbrellas. Along the promenade, paved with tiles and equipped with stylish lanterns and benches for rest, there are numerous cafes and restaurants, the owners of which vying invite to taste local dishes. In the park near the beach, barbecue areas are organized, there are play and sports grounds, a golf club and a indoor football field.
At Doi Duong, it is possible to rent boats, catamarans and kayaks, enjoy water attractions, go fishing, diving and snorkeling. Rental centers of the necessary equipment are organized for athletes, there are schools of surfing and sailing.
The sea is clear and transparent, the bottom is even and safe, the entry into the water is sloping. Due to the constantly blowing winds, there is practically no complete calm, but there is also no sweltering heat characteristic of the hot Vietnamese summer. The beach is quite suitable for rest with small children, who love to gambol in the coastal waves and sculpt funny figures from a gentle sand. The main thing is not to leave the small children unattended, since there are no rescuers on the beach and it is not possible to count on emergency care.
In the evenings, Doi Duong turns into a place for romantic dates and noisy youth parties. Discos and karaoke clubs are filled with visitors, and fireworks and spectacular pyrotechnic shows are often let off at coastal hotels.
When is the best time to go?
Since Vietnam is a country stretching from north to south, the climate in its different parts is slightly different. In the north, high humidity and temperature are observed from May to October, but in the remaining months it is slightly drier and cooler. In the South, the rainy season is longer, lasting from may to November, but even after it ends, the humidity does not subside. Therefore, it is better to go to popular resorts in the south of the country in winter or early spring.
