Vung Tau beach
Vung Tau is the closest beach to Ho Chi Minh City and the most visited in southern Vietnam. This is a spacious sandy area with enough space for beach games and even jogging. The sand, small and pleasant to the touch, has this effect.

As for the waves, they are ideal for surfing and kitesurfing. If a strong wind blows, the waves can reach a meter in height. Entry into the sea is comfortable, smooth. Lovers of swimming in depth will have to go quite a long time. But it is a paradise for parents with young children. There are no rocks and other “surprises” under water, however, plastic bottles and bags can float near the coast - the natural consequences of crowds. It is possible to shelter from the sun only under paid umbrellas - there is no vegetation, that creates shade.
Near the beach there is a non-traditional attraction for an Asian resort - a statue of Christ. It has impressive dimensions and is only a few meters lower, than the one, installed in Rio de Janeiro. 129 steps lead upstairs by a spiral staircase. And on the shoulders of Jesus are two viewing platforms. Entry is free, but getting there is not always possible: the scorching sun and the blowing draft can interfere, so it is necessary to choose a calm and not hot day to visit.
When is the best time to go?
Since Vietnam is a country stretching from north to south, the climate in its different parts is slightly different. In the north, high humidity and temperature are observed from May to October, but in the remaining months it is slightly drier and cooler. In the South, the rainy season is longer, lasting from may to November, but even after it ends, the humidity does not subside. Therefore, it is better to go to popular resorts in the south of the country in winter or early spring.
