Ong Dung beach
Ong Dung is an attractive rocky bay on the northwest coast of Kon Son Island, an hour's walk through the rainforest from the National Park headquarter. According to legend, the name of this beach is associated with the name of the man who killed his wife and after mourned for her at the ocean for the rest of his life.

Beach description
The beach itself is significantly different from other beaches in Vietnam. Its shore is covered with rocks and the bottom with sharp corals. To get to the depth, you need to wear fins or special shoes. Due to the high cliffs surrounding the bay on several sides, there are rarely strong winds. You can sail by yourself or rent a boat to see the nearby reef or island where the turtles live in spring. But be careful: it's forbidden to catch any of the sea creatures, it's punishable by a fine and removal from the territory of the National Park.
On the way to Ong Dung, you will pass through the Ma Thien Lan Bridge, built by prisoners under French occupation. Pay attention to the rare species of animals and birds that live only on this island!
When is it better to go?
Since Vietnam is a country stretching from north to south, the climate in its different parts is slightly different. In the north, high humidity and temperature are observed from May to October, but in the remaining months it is slightly drier and cooler. In the South, the rainy season is longer, lasting from may to November, but even after it ends, the humidity does not subside. Therefore, it is better to go to popular resorts in the south of the country in winter or early spring.
