Ixia beach
Ialyssos and Ixia are divided by Fileramos mountain, because of this they have similar conditions. And it turned out that Ialissos was chosen by surfers because of high waves and strong winds, and Ixia became a place loved by ordinary tourists, without any special need for extreme sports. Mostly, everyone likes this place because of its location, right between the airport and the capital. You can walk this distance on foot. If you go by public transport, it will take no more than half an hour, given waiting for a bus.

Beach description
The beach has pebble ground. Here the wind is weaker than on Ialissos, but still quite strong. The calm sea on this side is also likely not to be. But most of the resort has a smooth, gentle shore. This resort is not noisy because the young people do not attract such conditions of this beach. The beach has 5 kilometers length, so you can easily something more comfortable according to your preferences.
The beach is mostly out of pebbles, and has exciting large beach which is usually empty. Young companies may not be able to do this, but if you want to stay in peace and privacy, and you, moreover, it is not particularly important to have pebbles instead of sand, then the beach of Ixia will be suitable for you as best as possible.

When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

Infrastructure
Everything is fine with the infrastructure. Transport runs constantly. Almost the entire beach is equipped with sun loungers, parasols, toilets, showers and parking lots. Cafes, restaurants, bars - all this is abound on the beach. Most of them have a good menu, real Greek cuisine. And also, there is a good selection of hotels. There are some complications with the sightseeings. There is nothing interesting on Ixia itself, but you can quickly get to everything. If you want to spend several days among the ancient ruins, feel free to go to Rhodes. In the same city there is a gorgeous aquarium, divided into 25 pools. In neighboring Ialyssos, there are also many architectural monuments. If you do not want to spend time on each of them, you can visit only the church of St. Nicholas.

It’s definitely not worth going to Ixia with small children, because traveling around the island with them is more difficult, and because of the waves, swimming on this coast can be problematic for adults as well. Fans just lie down by the sea is also better to choose another place. For the same reasons.
Be sure to take your time and go to your local tavern. Usually, hotels and restaurants don’t prepare real Greek cuisine. And in the tavern you can fully experience all the smells and complex tastes of food inherent in a foreign culture, try something unusual.
