Kamiros beach

Kamiros is a pebble beach washed by the Aegean Sea. It is located 46 kilometers from Rhodes. It is surrounded by snow-white cliffs and huge boulders. This place is known for a large number of trees, very clear water, and a sudden depth increasing.

Beach description

The beach itself is located in a bay that protects it from strong waves and storms. There is a tavern, clean toilets, chair lounges, shower, changing cabins and free parking. It is possible to get to the Camiros beach by bus, taxi or private transport.

The last option is the most preferred, as it allows you to visit the following attractions:

  • ruins of ancient Greek Camiros with remains of water supply, agora, fragments of temples and dwellings. The age of the sights is several thousand years;
  • butterfly valley is a national reserve, home to thousands of beautiful creatures.

Camiros Beach is a pleasant experience for lazy fans. It is ideal for sunbathing and for a quiet conversation with soft drinks. But because of the sharp depth, children should not be allowed to go without supervision.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
