Agios Georgios beach
Agios Georgios is well-maintained with black sand and small pebble beach gained fame as an ideal place for relaxation. It is one of the longest beaches on the island. There are always a lot of tourists here.

Beach description
The main city of Santorini Fira Agios Georgios is only 12 kilometers away. In 3.5 kilometers is located another famous beach of the island of ‒ Perissa. Along the coastline there are numerous taverns and restaurants with various price gradations, providing any taste and thickness of the purse. The beach itself offers many activities including windsurfing, cycling and water skiing, diving, beach volleyball, etc.
Beach time can be used for small trips around the island. See, for example, the ruins of ancient Tire, the monastery of the prophet Elijah or the Museum of Wine near Kamari. The evening can be spent in Fira to admire the famous rock with a fantastically magnificent sunset, which is guaranteed to be printed in memory for life, as well as a panorama of the famous caldera.
From Santorini Airport, you can reach Agios Georgios within 25 minutes by taxi, comfortable bus or car hire.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
