Ammoudi beach
The wonderful beach of Ammoudi with black sand and pebbles is located at the base of the rocks, where there is Oia, in the Bay area. It cannot be attributed to a place equipped according to modern criteria for a beach holiday, but there are people willing to spend time here.

Ammudi is distinguished by the unusual beauty even by the standards of Santorini. The sea is clean and quite notwithstanding wind. It is convenient to enter it, there are no breaks. People are not afraid to come here with children.
The Bottom of the sea in this place is covered with large stone slabs formed by hot lava. Close to the coast of ‒ islets, the rocks of which are ideal for diving. For prepared divers there are many places with good conditions for diving among the rocks. Fish restaurants are located near the beach.
Get out of town to the beach and return on a steep staircase of 235 steps with your feet or on the backs of specially trained donkeys. You can do this on the vehicle by making a circle on the road leading down.
Iya itself is trully one of the most beautiful Greek cities. He was awarded the first prize in the European village competition for the best traditional architecture. There, people come to conclude a family union of newlyweds from all the ends of the earth, because St. Irina, in honor of which the island is named, is called the patroness of the newlyweds.
When is the best time to go?
