Beach description
From the capital of Santorini, Fira Campiu separates about 13 kilometers. The beach is covered with a large volcanic pebbles. The water is wonderful ‒ extremely transparent, with beautiful color. The surrounding rocks add scenic scenery and exotic.
There are a few particularly nice secluded places to interact with nature and at the same time there are plenty of restaurants and bars to offer good food. In addition, it is well equipped with beach equipment, which is rented at quite reasonable prices. In the rocky bottom, a special platform provides a convenient descent into the water.
From Kampia on the path you can walk to the much more famous of his brother ‒ Red Beach or Akrotiri. And by car or as a result of a 15-minute bicycle trip on a dirt road you can easily get to the famous lighthouse of Faros. Erected in 1892, it still operates. The light is visible in 24 nautical miles.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
