Perivolos beach
Perivolos is a picturesque beach with volcanic sand, which many people mistakenly consider a continuation of Perissa . This is a separate coastline with its own conditions and amenities, which is especially popular among lovers of water extreme sports and, somewhat surprisingly, among newlyweds. It is here that most often people prefer to hold wedding ceremonies on this paradise island in Greece.

Beach description
The Perivolos Beach is located in the south of the island, about 3 km away from Perissa. Its length is 1,5 km. It has a developed infrastructure, it's well-equipped and well-kept and has everything you need for a good vacation at the beach.
It's not worse than Perissa in any regard, however it's not as loud here. The atmosphere at Perivolos is calm and romantic, which is why couples and newlywed love to come here. Wedding photo shoots in front of the exotic volcanic sand and contrasting turquoise waters often take place here.
The main features of Perivolos are:
- The shore, like many other popular beaches on the island, is covered in black sand, while the water is very clean and clear.
- The descent is sudden, with the deep waters starting almost immediately.
- Big stones can be found on the sea bottom, so wearing slippers is recommended.
This isn't the best place to bring your children to. Extreme water sports enthusiasts will enjoy this beach, however. Perivolos is said to have one of the best infrastructures for active leisure on water.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

Infrastructure
Perivolos is one of the most well equipped beaches on the island. There you can find many water activities for every taste, including diving, parasailing and windsurfing. All necessary equipment it is possible to rent during a season directly on the beach. There are several areas for playing beach volleyball and futsal.
The beach infrastructure is well developed, all is in accordance with the understanding of a comfortable stay. There are sunbeds, umbrellas, showers and changing rooms. Some beachfront shebangs provide sunbeds and parasols for free in exchange for orders of food and drinks.
On the coast are located numerous taverns, pubs and restaurants, which are famous for a variety of dishes from freshly caught fish and seafood. You can taste different culinary masterpieces of local cuisine. However, number of night bars and nightclubs here is much smaller than on the neighbouring beach.
Regarding accommodation, you can stay both inside the village close to the beach, and in the neighboring resort of Perissa, where are much more hotels and apartments.
