Beach description
Welcome to the serene Eros Beach, nestled in the southern reaches of Santorini, tucked between Vlychada and the iconic Red Beach. This hidden gem remains off the radar for many tourists, making it an idyllic escape for those seeking tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of civilization and the noisy crowds.
The expansive shoreline stretches over 6 kilometers in length and boasts a width of 35 meters. The sands here paint a unique palette, with patches of golden hues intermingling with striking black grains. Eros Beach is a haven of peace, shielded by towering mountains that protect it from the brisk island winds. These majestic slopes contribute to the beach's otherworldly charm, as if plucked from the pages of a science fiction novel.
While Eros Beach is typically calm, it's important to note that it can be windy at times, with the potential for high waves. If you're planning a vacation here, keep this in mind. The azure waters are invitingly clear and pristine. However, exercise caution near the shoreline, as sharp stones are present - better to avoid an unpleasant cut.
When is the best time to visit?
The best time to visit Santorini for a beach vacation is typically between late May and early October. During this period, the weather is warm, and the Aegean Sea is perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
- Late May to June: This is the ideal time for those who prefer a quieter vacation, as the summer crowds have not yet arrived. The weather is pleasantly warm, and the sea has started to heat up, making it comfortable for swimming.
- July to August: These are the busiest months, with peak tourist season in full swing. The weather is hot, and the beaches are at their most vibrant. However, be prepared for higher prices and more crowded spaces.
- September: As the summer winds down, September offers a great balance with fewer tourists and still-warm weather. The sea remains warm from the summer heat, providing excellent conditions for water activities.
- Early October: For those looking to catch the last of the summer weather, early October can still offer sunny days suitable for beach outings, though the evenings start to cool, and there's a higher chance of windy conditions.
Ultimately, the best time for a beach vacation in Santorini depends on your preferences for weather, crowd levels, and prices. Each part of the season offers a unique experience on this beautiful Greek island.

Infrastructure
The infrastructure, though minimal, is well-developed. The beach is dotted with numerous umbrellas, offering a respite from the heat.
Local residents ensure the cleanliness of the coast, which is why access to Eros Beach incurs a fee. Note that the beach lacks showers and changing rooms.
- During the season, food is available at kiosks, as well as in a café. However, the selection of restaurants and bars is limited compared to the more popular beaches on the island.
- Trading near the water is prohibited, which is why all cafes, kiosks, and taverns - some with English-speaking staff - are situated in a village atop the hills.
- At the entrance to the beach, there is a charming seafood restaurant that offers complimentary sunbeds to its patrons.
For those looking to unwind, there are three hotels in close proximity to the sea, yet approximately 2 kilometers from the beach. Options include the luxurious Adamant Suites, with rooms uniquely designed for an exclusive relaxation experience. Alternatively, consider the Cycladic-style Keti Hotel, or Tzekos Villas, perched on the caldera's cliff in Fira.
