Beach description
Colva is a popular beach of South Goa. The shore is 2.4 km long. 120m wide, it's covered with fine white sand, the entrance to the sea is gentle. The waves are moderate, in the off-season with the monsoon period are amplified. Along the perimeter of the beach grow palm trees, small crabs run along the shore. The resort has a lot of water activities, beautiful sunsets. In the central part of the beach is very noisy and crowded, there are a lot of public places. For a secluded and relaxing holiday, tourists go closer to the outskirts of Colva.
First line hotel stuff take care of the cleanliness of the shore and sea. Near cafes there are toilets and showers. Clients of these cafes can use the facilities for free. Lifeguard monitor the safety of tourists.
Thanks to safety the following water activities are popular:

Infrastructure is highly developed, the resort is good for passive and active recreation. Tourists come with families and small children, or with big companies. In the center there are entertainments, cafes and restaurants, on the outskirts there are many private places. Parallel to the shore are hotels of different levels of comfort and service.
In Colva there are a lot of places on every taste from expensive restaurants to cheap cafes. Popular dishes:
- tondak which is fried fish in coconut oil,
- sukem from shellfish and shrimp,
- cooked in the oven tandoori meat,
- biryani which is chicken or lamb with rice,
- curry vegetables,
- soups,
- rice cakes.

- jalebi,
- Buffy is a sweet, which is usually served with tea.
Not far from the beach there is a fish market, where local fishermen sell fresh catch every day. In the evenings there are performances of magicians, acrobats, countless shows, discos.
