Morjim beach

Morjim Beach is located on the territory of Morjim village on the North coast of Goa.

Beach description

It's a wide 3km long beach. The shore is covered with fine white sand, the depth is gradually gaining, the beach is comfortable, but subject to tides. The sea is azure, the bottom is sandy, without stones and sharp drops. Morjim boards with Chapora river, which is flowing into the Arabian sea, and Ashwem beach. The beach is open round the clock every day. Admission is free. In the evening tourists watch beautiful sunsets. There are food, drinks, souvenirs and beach accessories traders. The beach is crowded, but cozy, surrounded by greenery, tall trees.

At coastal establishments there are sunbeds, umbrellas and other beach equipment, which is provided to customers of the institution free of charge. There is also a possibility to use a toilet and a shower.

When is it better to go

The best time to spend holidays on the beaches of India – is from November to March. These months have less rainfall, humidity is 60 - 70%, and the water temperature in the Indian Ocean is +29 degrees. There are many vacationers throughout the year. On the resort territory there are a lot of hotels, guesthouses, bungalows, luxurious villas and apartments on every taste and budget. It's recommended to book the accomodation in advance to comfortably and profitably place for the entire period of rest.

Beach is full of restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets and cheap snackbars. There are no nightclubs, but all the fun is concentrated in local restaurants. There are often take place discos, plays loud music, run shows and performances. Tourists can watch films in Russian language in restaurants. Infrastructure is highly developed, because this place popularity prices here are higher than at other North Goa resorts. People go shopping to Ashwem.

Everyday open souvenir shops, where tourists can buy figurines, local handmade, jewelry, clothes. Those who wish to learn the science of breathing practices go to the local school of this art of self-control. Popular entertainments:

Useful information

On the south of Morjim live numerous colonies of olive turtles, due to this, it has an alternative name "Turtle beach". Marine life is protected by the low. Morjim beach is a place for breeding, so the entrance to the area with turtles is forbidden.

Morjim is very popular with russian tourists, so there are no problems with communication and service. Locals easily answer basic and frequently asked questions in Russian.

Local attraction is the ancient temple of Sri Moraji, which attracts pilgrims from all over Goa.
