Aqueduct Beach

Just half an hour's drive from Tel Aviv, 2.5 km from ancient Caesarea, is the famous Aqueduct Beach. It is famous not only for its magnificent white sands and crystal clear waters but above all for the ruins of an ancient aqueduct stretching along the beach.

Beach description

This engineering object, built by order of King Herod in the I century BC, once reached 10 km. In ancient times, it served to fill Caesarea's baths with precious fresh water. Today, the arched miracle of architecture brings surreal notes to the recreation area design and inspires tourists to photoshoots, especially at sunset.

The absence of usual beach attributes (restaurants / bars / kiosks) is compensated by the silence and calmness. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the rowdy crowds of tourists, you can truly relax here. The basic amenities of Aqueduct Beach (showers and lifeguards' station) provide an opportunity to enjoy safe swimming and surfing. There is parking for travelers by car.

When is it better to go

Israel is located in a subtropical climate zone of the Mediterranean type, the characteristic features of which are mild winters and very hot summers. The most favorable time for a beach holiday in the Mediterranean and Red Seas is spring (April-May) and autumn (September, October, early November). On the Dead Sea you can relax all year round. The water temperature in winter does not fall below + 20 °C, but in the summer it is unbearably hot there.
