Coral Beach

Coral Beach, nestled along the Red Sea and situated just 6 km from Eilat, lies within a unique marine reserve. The shoreline is adorned with volcanic sand, providing a stunning contrast to the azure waters. Off the coast, Israel's largest coral reef stretches for approximately 1.2 km, offering a breathtaking underwater spectacle. This pristine location is a haven for those seeking a picturesque beach vacation in Israel.

Beach description

Welcome to the serene Coral Beach in Israel, a haven for beach enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike! Prepare to bask under the sun with the comfort of sunshades provided for your relaxation. However, it's important to note that additional beach infrastructure is limited. We recommend bringing your own food and drinks to enhance your seaside experience. For your convenience, entrance fees are set at 35 shekels for adults and 21 shekels for children.

Be mindful that the beach can become quite bustling, especially as the day progresses. By noon, finding a spot under the sun awnings may prove challenging due to the influx of tourists and vacationers from across Israel. To ensure a prime location, consider arriving early to claim your perfect spot.

For the aquatic adventurers, the shore is home to a diving center and shops offering a variety of diving equipment. Whether you're looking to kayak, kitesurf, windsurf, or scuba dive, rental equipment is readily available to cater to your water sport needs. The beach is equipped to provide an exhilarating experience for all.

Access to the sea is made easy with wooden walkways featuring wide steps, allowing you to gently wade into the water. These walkways are a thoughtful measure to preserve the integrity of the reef. We urge you to respect the marine environment by not touching or damaging the coral formations.

The coral reef is a treasure trove for divers, boasting around a thousand species of endemic Red Sea fauna. From jellyfish to crustaceans, octopuses, tropical fish, moray eels, stingrays, and sea urchins, the vibrant coral thickets are teeming with life. Please remember that feeding the fish is strictly prohibited, and violators may incur a hefty fine.

Optimal Time for Your Visit

The best time to visit Israel for a beach vacation is during the spring and autumn months. Specifically, the periods from April to June and September to November offer the most pleasant weather for beachgoers.

  • Spring (April to June): During these months, the temperatures are warm but not excessively hot, making it ideal for sunbathing and swimming. The Mediterranean Sea starts to warm up, and tourist crowds are generally thinner than in the peak summer season.
  • Autumn (September to November): This season is similar to spring in terms of weather conditions. The sea remains warm from the summer heat, providing comfortable swimming conditions. Additionally, the autumn period sees a decrease in tourist numbers, allowing for a more relaxed atmosphere on the beaches.

While summer (July and August) is also a popular time for beach vacations, it is important to note that the temperatures can be extremely hot, and the beaches can become overcrowded. Therefore, for the optimal balance of pleasant weather and fewer crowds, spring and autumn are the recommended times for a beach vacation in Israel.
