Carmel beach

Carmel is covered with a thick layer of pure light sand. The entry to the sea is gentle. At the water's edge there are many small stones. Sharp coral gets under your feet in the sandy bottom, so it’s best to wear special shoes. A long stone breakwater provides a safe swim in the calm water. There are no high waves.

Carmel beach is one of the most popular beaches in the city. It is especially crowded on weekends when citizens come to the beach with their families. The beach is suitable for families with children. There is a playground, sports grounds for beach volleyball and football. Rescuers are on duty at the towers, and there is a first-aid post. The beach offers spectacular views of the promenade and Mount Carmel with picturesque gardens and residential buildings.

You can get to Carmel Beach by public transport or by rental car. There is a parking lot.

When is it better to go

Israel is located in a subtropical climate zone of the Mediterranean type, the characteristic features of which are mild winters and very hot summers. The most favorable time for a beach holiday in the Mediterranean and Red Seas is spring (April-May) and autumn (September, October, early November). On the Dead Sea you can relax all year round. The water temperature in winter does not fall below + 20 °C, but in the summer it is unbearably hot there.
