Beach description
The coastline is covered with fine light sand. The descent into the water is gentle. The bottom is sandy and clean. There are places for fishermen. It’s quite windy in open areas. The sea is restless, so the beach is often the place for parasailing, kitesurfing and windsurfing. There is a surf school.
Banana beach is ideal for a relaxing break. Mostly locals with children rest here. There are few tourists. There are no noisy companies of teenagers and youth. Near the beach there is no familiar tourist infrastructure with many entertainment establishments. There is only one cafe on the shore, in honor of which the beach got its name. In the evenings, old films and popular sporting events are shown on the big screen. Free viewing for everyone.
You can get to Banana beach by public transport, rental car or on foot.
When is it better to go
Israel is located in a subtropical climate zone of the Mediterranean type, the characteristic features of which are mild winters and very hot summers. The most favorable time for a beach holiday in the Mediterranean and Red Seas is spring (April-May) and autumn (September, October, early November). On the Dead Sea you can relax all year round. The water temperature in winter does not fall below + 20 °C, but in the summer it is unbearably hot there.
