Metsitsim beach

Metsitsim is a well-maintained public beach, located near the port and the beaches of Hilton, Gordon and Frischman. In the southern part of Metsitsim there is a site for orthodox Jews with separate use for men and women.

Beach description

Metsitsim is ideal for families with children and for enthusiasts of active entertainment on the water. The beach is covered with a thick layer of clean fine sand. The entrance to the sea is gentle, long sandbank, the bottom is sandy, the water is clean and calm, without waves. A breakwater is installed in the sea. Equipped with sports and playgrounds, there are rental points for umbrellas and sun loungers. Changing cabins, showers and toilets are free. There is a first-aid post and a rescue service on duty.

The beach is always crowded. Among vacationers, mainly townspeople, few tourists. Metsitsim does not empty even in winter. Convenient transportation makes it possible to rest on the sandy shore at any time of the day or year.

Not far from Metsitsim there is the Habima Theater and the Museum of Fine Arts. The beach can be reached on foot, by public transport or by rented car. There is parking nearby.

When is it better to go

Israel is located in a subtropical climate zone of the Mediterranean type, the characteristic features of which are mild winters and very hot summers. The most favorable time for a beach holiday in the Mediterranean and Red Seas is spring (April-May) and autumn (September, October, early November). On the Dead Sea you can relax all year round. The water temperature in winter does not fall below + 20 °C, but in the summer it is unbearably hot there.
