Beit Yanai beach

Beit Yanai beach is 5 km north of Netanya and only 20 minutes from Tel Aviv. As a long and wide white beach strip, it is considered one of the most beautiful, quiet and well-maintained beaches in Israel.

Beach description

Beit Yanai will be perfect both for outdoor types (surfing, kitesurfing, tracking) and fans to soak up the soft sand and swim in the crystal clear water. Beach amenities include:

  • WCs and showers,
  • changing stalls,
  • sales outlets,
  • rescue stations,
  • seafood restaurant,
  • parking.

The night campsite has drinking fountains, fireplaces, picnic tables, mobile phone chargers, WC, shower and kitchen trucks.

A quarter of an hour's walk from the center of Beit Yanai beach there is the Nahal Alexander river, which flows from the mountains of Samaria into the Mediterranean Sea. It is a home area for soft-shelled turtles, which can reach a length of 1.20 m and weigh up to 50 kg. Another natural interest is the Beit Yanai pond with rich flora and fauna. A wooden path leads to it.

When is the best time to go?

Israel is located in a subtropical climate zone of the Mediterranean type, the characteristic features of which are mild winters and very hot summers. The most favorable time for a beach holiday in the Mediterranean and Red Seas is spring (April-May) and autumn (September, October, early November). On the Dead Sea you can relax all year round. The water temperature in winter does not fall below + 20 °C, but in the summer it is unbearably hot there.

Useful information

At Beit Yanai beach you can see the remains of a pier built in 1938 for citrus exports. In 1948, the “Altalena” cargo ship anchored here was shot nearby. The beach background (the eucalyptus grove and ancient ruins) is also impressive.
