Gerita beach

Gerita is a remote and therefore little-visited beach with unspoilt nature and a quiet, cozy atmosphere. It is located 40 km northwest of the island's capital - Chios, near the village of Sidirunda. This quiet and rather isolated place will be highly appreciated by lovers of a relaxing beach holiday. Near the coast, in the sea, there are rock formations that create a romantic landscape and look great in the photo.

Beach description

Gerita is a spacious pebble beach, surrounded on all sides by rocky, densely overgrown shrubs and pine trees hills. Being protected from strong winds, it is ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The entrance to the sea is gentle, the bottom is sandy, the sea water is cool and clean, with a soft surf. The beach area is not organized, and has no tourist facilities. For a comfortable stay on its territory visitors should bring food, water, beach shoes, umbrellas, and other necessary beach equipment.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
