Agios Ioannis beach
Agios Ioannis is a small, noisy and entertaining beach located in the western part of Mykonos. There is a pier with fishing and tourist boats, picturesque mountains covered with snow-white houses, very warm, bright blue water. This is an ideal place for sunbathing, tasting the best dishes of Greek cuisine, admiring the sea and beautiful ships.

Beach description
The beach is covered with soft sand all over Mykonos. These conditions are perfect for barefoot walking and building sand castles. The waters here are very warm, hot even, and are bright blue with little to no waves. Pebbles and stones are rarely found on the sea bottom. No fish or jellyfish is present in the sea, so you can easily swim undisturbed. There's also little to no wind here, as it is stopped by the high hills that surround the beach from either side.
Agios Ioannis combines calm atmosphere with well-developed infrastructure. There is no loud music, crowds of tourists, annoying merchants or drunk visitors. Just the bright sun, colorful buildings and clear air. Worth noting are the landscapes here - you can clearly see tourist boats, Delos Island and the southern shore of Mykonos from this beach.
This beach is a great fit for tourists with following hobbies:

When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

500 meters from the beach is a small but picturesque church of San Giovanni. There is a private marina, a steak bar, and a traditional Greek restaurant next to it. These establishments are famous for their delicious cuisine, the right recipe, and affordable prices. There is also a Mediterranean pizzeria 200 meters from Agios Ioannis. Nearby is an ATM.
