Beach description
Kalafatis is a lot calmer than its more well-known neighbors which attracts those who like solitude. Water skiing, jet skiing, standup paddleboarding, snorkeling, diving etc. are available for visitors. Rescuers are always here to help in case of accidents. This is an ideal place for surfers, but please mind that wind and high waves may make children uncomfortable. The beach is divided into two parts for your convenience: one is for those who like extreme sports, the other - for everyone else.
Kalafatis is equipped with umbrellas and deck chairs which you can rent for a small price. Garbage cans are situated across the beach. There are many hotels and villas of various prices, mini-markets, taverns and cafes with fresh seafood all around the beach and its outskirts. Kalafatis provides a great opportunity to rest both your body and soul, combine active leisure with sunbathing.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
