Fokos beach
Fokos is a quiet and cozy beach located in the northeastern part of the island. There are no sun loungers, bars and crowds of holidaymakers. But there is golden sand, a clean and calm sea, picturesque cliffs. Here are perfect conditions for sunbathing, swimming in the sea, camping.

Beach description
Fokos is located in a small bay. It's covered in golden sand and pebbles. Sometimes you can find a stone or two, so it's recommended to wear slippers. Little to no wind and almost no high waves describes this place perfectly. The descent isn't smooth, however, as it gets deep only 4-5 meters away from the beach.
On either side of Fokos are amazing mountains that provide a great view of the sea and nearby lands. You can find a small and beautiful Agia Anna church 500 meters away from the sea. The beach offers these and more:
- a lot of free space at any time of day;
- no annoying merchants;
- clean beach and a clean blue sea;
- good place to walk around and explore the location;
- sea bottom that is made for exploration and underwater swimming.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

Infrastructure
You can use a bathroom or wash your face in a small restaurant located close to the beach. It is characterized by low prices, tasty seafood dishs, cordiality and warm attitude to guests.
There are no hotels at all near Fokos. The closest hotel (Sea Rock & Sky Private Residence) is situated 3 km away from the beach. It offers the following advantages to its guests:
- spacious rooms with the sea view;
- free Wi-Fi;
- sunbathing terrace;
- laundry;
- bar and restaurant;
- equipped street areas.
In this hotel, special children's menu is offered, and guests with pets are welcome. Although, its guests have to cover 3 km down cart tracks in order to relax in Fokos.
Some tourists install tents right on the beach. They have a breakfast in the closest cafe and use its bathroom. Moreover, you can rent a car and enjoy your comfortable rest in this place.

Fokos Tavern is open from 13:00 to 19:00. Its specialties are salads, lamb chops and seafood. All food is prepared according to the canons of Greek cuisine. There is an external shower and tables with toilets on the site. If you want to eat while enjoying the panoramas of the beach and the bay, reserve a table in advance.
Important: the terminal does not work regularly here. Get cash in order to avoid unpleasant surprises.
