Korfos beach
Korfos Beach on the Gulf of the Agios Ioannis Peninsula is known for its excellent conditions for kitesurfing. In summer, the Meltemi winds blow from the north, which become only stronger in the elongated lagoon, creating the ideal place to do this sport. Both beginners and professional sportsmen can catch the wave here.

Beach description
Korfos Beach isn't long (just about 400 m) and is covered in light sand. Unexperienced kite surfers can try their skills near the beach where it's not deep, professionals enjoy their time further away. You can rent kite surfing equipment and take lessons with an instructor who will teach you how to handle high wind and big waves. They're exactly the reason why Korfos isn't suitable for ordinary swimming (the middle of the beach is closed due to kite surfers), especially for children, unless, of course, you want them to get used to such extreme sports from a young age.
This sports beach doesn't have a well-developed infrastructure, but there are mini-markets and hotels all around the beach, both cheap and expensive. There's a free parking nearby. The Ornos Beach is located on the opposite side of the strait which you can easily reach to take a break and swim in turquoise waters.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
