Psili Ammos beach

Psili Ammos Beach is a small bay, the name of which is translated from Greek as “fine” or “thin sand”, and is located in the eastern part of the island. The beach area is far removed from the central cities, so Psili Ammos is considered an unorganized recreation area for a relaxing pastime. There are no standard amenities like sun loungers or umbrellas, but the picturesque panorama and the fine, white sand more than compensate for all the inconveniences.

Beach description

The beach is easy to reach, with a new asphalt road leading to it, but it is quiet narrow for cars, so it is more convenient to rest a scooter for a comfortable ride on this part of the island. Parking is organized near the beach. You can also rent a boat and get to the beach by water.

Calm atmosphere and clean water are perfect for families with children, but the lack of amenities and infrastructure is not quite right for this purpose. A much more comfortable vacation will be for tourists wishing to stay in silence and enjoy the unity with nature, which is facilitated by the rapid vegetation in the cedar forest in the surroundings of the beach. Besides, it is also a great place for meditation and relaxation.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
