Golden beach
Golden Beach is the longest on the island. It stretches for 7 km in the eastern part of Thassos - 12 km from Limenas and 4 km from Panagia. It is a well-equipped beach, which is also marked with the Blue Flag for cleanliness. Vacationers love it for its spaciousness, soft descent into the water and a long promenade with many bars, cafes and shops, which is located immediately behind the beach. The beach got its name by the colour of sand - golden, with tinges, without mixture of rocks and small garbage. Both in water and on land, grains of sand are very small, so it is convenient to move along the beach and enter the sea. Rubber shoes is not needed.
The bottom of the sea is flat, the depth begins smoothly. But in order to feel the chest in the water - it is necessary to go very far ahead. Therefore, the beach is supposedly created for family rest. Although noisy companies, that spend time with friends, also love this coastline:

The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing.
