Pefkari beach
Pefkari is a sand and pebble beach with large pine trees along the entire coastline. They fill the air with the aroma of pine needles, save tourists from the summer heat, serve as an ideal place for organizing a picnic or camping. The entire beach is located in a small bay that protects tourists from strong winds and large waves. Instead, vacationers are waiting for the bright sun, cloudless sky and fantastic beauty. The beach is characterized by a gradual increase in depth. Here are ideal conditions for learning to swim and relax with children.

Beach description
The beach is located in the south of Thasos, between the resorts of Limenaria and Potos. The distance between it and the capital is approximately 40 km. It is possible to get here by regular bus, taxi or private transport.
Pefkari is covered with soft sand mixed with stones and shingle. There is no garbage on its surface - the perfect cleanliness of the beach is confirmed by the "Blue Flag" Award. It is possible to walk barefoot without any shoes on the ground. But when entering the water it is recommended to wear slippers. The main contingent of the beach is families with children. Also here youth, gastronomic tourists, athletes rest.
Local cliffs are another decoration of the beach - they reach a height of 40-50 meters and look great from any angle. It is possible to climb along hiking trails to enjoy the views and take spectacular photos.
Beach guests are offered the following services:
- rental of soft and wide loungers with umbrellas;
- preparation of dishes and drinks;
- water activities: banana rides, tubing, scooter rental, etc.;
- diving lessons and equipment rent;
- boat excursions.
On the territory of Pefkari there are toilets, showers, changing rooms. There are grocery stores, souvenir shops, a diving school and a water sports center. There are several good hotels in the outskirts of the beach.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
