Marina di Amendolara beach

There is a shingly beach. Rather secluded place, where in the high season there are not too many people. The beach is small by the standards of Calabria. The length of the beach strip is about 300 meters, and the depth is not more than 20 meters. The beach is divided by a stone pier, which protects the beach area from a big wave. On the one side of the mall there is a beach club, where parasols and sunbeds are rented, a very tiny area for holiday-makers. And on the other side of the pier, fishing boats leave for the sea. The entry onto the sea is shingle, so it is necessary to bring along beach shoes. Depth is almost immediately off the coast, making it uncomfortable for families with children.

In the outskirts of the beach there are almost no greenery and hotels. It is possible to rent a housing from locals for 70 euros per day. Along the beach there is a road, on which it is possible to get here by rented car.

Of the sights, the Old Town with a castle, towering on a cliff above the beach, causes a lot of emotions of tourists. From the sea, it looks great. You can go up to the top and walk along its territory for 3 euros. There is a restaurant inside, although, the kitchen is expensive.

When is it better to go

In terms of climate, the period from May to October is the most favorable for visiting Italy. The air and water temperature becomes ideal for a classic beach holiday, followed by a trip to the coast of Italy. However, it is necessary to remember that a long summer with the scorching sun, warm sea and pleasant sea breeze attracts crowds of tourists.
