Villapiana beach
Villapiana is one of the most widely promoted resorts on the Ionian coastline of Calabria. It is quite crowded in high season, as tourists come here from all over Europe.

Villapian has a wide beach area and a large number of clubs, where it is possible to find everything necessary for a comfortable rest. The sand is wight, very clean, like the sea itself. All tourists call the Ionian Sea miraculous not for nothing, because the sea bottom can be seen already at a depth of 3 meters.
The beach has a well-developed infrastructure. There are changing cabins, a toilet; rescuers work. There is also a restaurant, where it is possible to taste pasta with seafood. Soft, relaxing music sounds in the bar. And the parking is located in a pine forest, so on a hot summer day the car does not heat too much in the sun.
There is also a playground on the beach, which makes it popular with merried couples with children. There is also a convenient entry into the sea. But after a few meters, the depth increases. And then there is a narrow spit, where it is waist-deep again.
It is possible to get here by train to Villapiana Lido Station or to Villapiana Torre Cerchiara Station. And also pivate car.
When is it better to go
In terms of climate, the period from May to October is the most favorable for visiting Italy. The air and water temperature becomes ideal for a classic beach holiday, followed by a trip to the coast of Italy. However, it is necessary to remember that a long summer with the scorching sun, warm sea and pleasant sea breeze attracts crowds of tourists.
