Squillace Lido beach

Sand beach with shallow water entry and calm water is popular among different tourists: family couples, young travelers, well-to-do tourists from different countries. The beach has all the required things: changing areas, beach club with the possibility to rent umbrellas and sling chairs. However, many tourists complain that here, they are more expensive than on the other beaches, 15 Euros per one pair. Here, you can take a boat, a catamaran, or try water ski. Close to the coast, several reefs are located where tourists often engage in snorkeling. Wonderful restaurants with good seafood dishes are situated in the coastal area. Although, there are not so many hotels here; the price range is from 80 to 180 Euros per night.

6 kilometers from the beach, in the town of Squillace, the medieval Norman castle is located, and many tourists are advised to visit it. The visit costs 3 Euros. And people who love beauty of nature can go to Villa Cupi Canyon for a tour. It is a wonderful place for a mountain walk with descents, ascents, waterfalls and mountain rivers. The trip duration is 1.5 hours. Even children of 7-10 years will be able to get throuh this trip.

You can get to the beach by electric train to the railway station Squillace. It will take you another 10 minutes to get from the station to the sea on feet.

When is it better to go

In terms of climate, the period from May to October is the most favorable for visiting Italy. The air and water temperature becomes ideal for a classic beach holiday, followed by a trip to the coast of Italy. However, it is necessary to remember that a long summer with the scorching sun, warm sea and pleasant sea breeze attracts crowds of tourists.
