Amantea beach

Amantea is a calm beach by the large city with the same name located on a hill in the region of Calabria, in the southern part of Italy. The beach is composed of equipped and wild areas. It is clean, cozy, and safe here. There are no crowds in Amantea, tourists are rare, and the main visitors of the shore are Italians. City confectioners make tasty sweets.

Beach description

Bottom and beach are covered with multi-sized pebbles and soft sand. The sea is dark blue, the descent is smooth, the depth grows gradually - the beach is suitable for the rest of adults and kids. Relax comfortably. The wind and waves are seldom here.

On Amantea coast, there are many hotels of different levels of comfort. Low-budget and medium price segments are represented with apartments with the cost from 40 to100$ per night, with more expensive high-class luxes costing 1000$/night. You can get to the city from the airport by electric train, taxi, or transfer.

Not far from the beach, there are located old ruins of Rocca Castle in the Old Town; in the same place, there are many medieval temples open to everyone. Saint Bernardino Church built in the 15th century has a stunning facade decorated with ceramic cross-shaped plates; inside, you will see the marble statue of Virgin Mary created in the 16th century by the sculptor Gagini.

When is it better to go

In terms of climate, the period from May to October is the most favorable for visiting Italy. The air and water temperature becomes ideal for a classic beach holiday, followed by a trip to the coast of Italy. However, it is necessary to remember that a long summer with the scorching sun, warm sea and pleasant sea breeze attracts crowds of tourists.
