Butterfly beach

Butterfly Beach is one of the most famous and beloved beaches in Santa Barbara district. The beach becomes very narrow during tides, with ocean bordering it from one side and beautiful cottages and old mansions - from the other. The Hollywood glamour attracts many celebrities and those who dreamt of meeting them. The Santa Ynez mountain range protects the Californian Riviera from continental winds.

Beach description

Butterfly Beach is a long sandy oasis where one can take a long walk with their pet, ride a bicycle on a designated path with solid surface, swim in the cool ocean water or sunbathe on warm sand under palm trees.

As the Butterfly Beach faces west, truly breathtaking sunsets can be seen here. It's a perfect place to jog in the morning or sit on the coast with an easel. The wide part of the coast at the hill foot is occupied by volleyball courts. Water sports are developed here, and children like to build sand castles.

Butterfly Beach's disadvantage is the lack of toilets and showers, so when coming here, mark the closest cafes or restaurants or just concentrate on watching the beautiful landscapes. It gets pretty crowded here during high season, so parking your vehicle may be difficult. It's possible if you park in a different block.

This place is most suitable for active travellers and family vacations.

When is the best time to go?

To lay off on the beaches of the mainland, it is best to come in the summer, when a sufficiently warm temperature is settled for swimming. Places like Florida or the Hawaiian Islands are comfortable all year round.

Infrastructure

The population of the city isn't big, and the city itself isn't getting bigger due to the fresh water shortage. The geological fault that is the foundation of Santa Barbara creates the threat of earthquakes that have already happened here before. But it doesn't prevent many celebrities from buying out the local land. Michael Jackson's Ranch, along with the property of many other famous people, is located right here.

The historical part of the city is full of Ancient Roman and colonial architecture. The Court Building is decorated with hand paintings and forged chandeliers.

The resort doesn't have any food shortages. Both cheap and expensive establishments can be found here. Numerous hamburger cafes offer cheap dinner. Gourmets, on the other hand, frequently visit French restaurants on the central street, where the dinner with delicacies and the specialty - tuna salad - will cost no more than 30$.

Find some free time to try the local wine. Santa Barbara is located in a real wine valley, so trying the magnificent beverage is possible both in the city center and on the ranch, where it's being made.

Famous hotel franchises, as well as other numerous hotels, operate here. Visitors can also stay in guest houses and hostels. The largest hotels are located along the beach and near the harbor, most of them are 3-star.

Specially decorated suites with all conveniences await you in the Lemon Tree Inn. It's located off the city center, but a rented car will allow you to see the beautiful landscapes and the numerous sights around. Comfortable suites, pool, Italian cuisine, the fragrant garden with fruit trees all attract guests. It's a calm place for a tired traveller.
