Dockweiler State Beach

The beach adds one more highlight to the sound of tide, seagulls above the waves and the unique flavor of water - airplanes getting off right above the people's heads. It doesn't annoy at all, on the contrary - it creates a romantic atmosphere that will always strike a chord. This is an excellent place for swimming and sunbathing because the sun reaches every meter of this beach independently on solstice. When sunset comes, you feel a wish to hold a picnic with a guitar, warm plaid, and good company.

Beach description

It is a sand beach with soft sand of rich orange color When you enter water, you don't feel depth for a long time. You can walk a long distance until you reach the certain depth to swim comfortably. Due to this, kids are safe while walking in water close to the very shore. However, parents should remember that strong winds blow on the beach almost all time, and form high waves.

The latter is represented by Dockweiler State Beach – one of the main beaches for surfers to gather. The beach rescuers provide safety on the beach, so you can try surfing even if it is going to be your first time on the board. The beach is built with luxury hotels and apartments complexes. One of such objects is Hilton Garden Inn LAX - El Segundo, where you can book a luxury suite and enjoy the luxury class service.

Dockweiler Beach stretches southwards from the entrance to Marina Del Rey. Los Angeles International Airport is located right inward from the beach. Noise of airplanes may annoy some people but the most guests in Dockweiler usually ignore it. Although Dockweiler is specified as the state beach, it is governed by Los Angeles county.

When is the best time to go?

The best time to visit the West coast of the USA for a beach vacation largely depends on the type of experience you're seeking. However, a general recommendation can be made for the period from late spring to early fall.

  • Late Spring (May to June): This is a great time to enjoy the beaches with fewer crowds and mild weather. The ocean temperatures are starting to warm up, and the days are getting longer.
  • Summer (July to August): Summer is the peak season for beachgoers. Expect warm weather, sunny skies, and lively beach towns. However, be prepared for larger crowds and higher accommodation prices.
  • Early Fall (September to October): This is often considered the ideal time for a beach vacation on the West coast. The weather remains warm, but the summer crowds have dissipated. The ocean is at its warmest, and you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Ultimately, the best time for a beach vacation on the West coast is when it aligns with your personal preferences for weather, water activities, and crowd levels.
